AFL revokes Port Adelaide’s Brownlow invitation

The Port Adelaide Football Club’s invitation to this year’s Brownlow Medal count has been revoked, according to a statement released by the AFL.  League CEO Andrew Demetriou said there “wasn’t much f*cking point” in the Power’s attendance given the season they’ve had.

Port Adelaide coach Matthew Primus conceded that attendance of Power players would most likely “trivialise and undermine the integrity of the AFL’s night-of-nights.”

Primus quipped that the mere thought of once-promising Power on-baller Steven Salopek being in the same room as a Brownlow medal was “a tad unwholesome.”

The AFL also confirmed that Gold Coast Suns players may only attend if accompanied by a parent or guardian.
